About SAAM

SAAM is a thai restaurant in San Francisco, California. It is listed at 415 Brannan St, San Francisco, CA 94107, which places it among the local businesses of San Francisco that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

San Francisco is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and San Francisco follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Saam, a Thai restaurant with its own unique character. The flavors are delicious, and the presentation of each dish has such a beautiful sense of style. The interior is just as impressive. The lighting is beautiful, with warm brown and neutral tones that work perfectly together. For drinks, the focus is mostly on a carefully selected wine list. No cocktails though, sadly πŸ₯² I had the chance to try one of their wines, and it paired beautifully with the food. Thank you for the wine πŸ™‚ As for the price… Ouchhh πŸ˜‚ The service was okay overall. One area that could make the experience even better would be more polished and knowledgeable service throughout the meal. With food presented at this level, I would love to hear the staff explain each dish with more confidence and detail, including the ingredients, flavors, and the chef’s inspiration behind it. I think that extra touch would help guests appreciate the food even more and elevate the overall dining experience. But overall, I really loved the atmosphere here. It’s a great choice for a special occasion, especially if you’re looking for somewhere intimate, stylish, and a little elevated. The whole time I was thinking, β€œI really

My dining experience at SAAM last week exceeded expectations, blending a gorgeous atmosphere with stellar hospitality and bold, vibrant flavors. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality stood out. The host at the front greeted us immediately and led us to our table. He even noticed that other servers were tied up with nearby tables and thoughtfully poured our water himselfβ€”a small touch of proactive care that set the tone for the night. The interior ambiance is beautiful, creating a warm and inviting setting. However, the absolute highlight of our evening was our server, Best. Incredibly attentive, hospitable, and full of great energy, Best completely livened up our dinner experience and made us feel genuinely welcome. Menu Highlights β€’Β Β Β Β Som Tum Peaches (Appetizer): A fantastic way to start the meal. It carried a bit more heat than expected, but the sweetness of the fresh peaches provided a wonderful balance. I would definitely order this again. β€’Β Β Β Β Gaeng Kua Beef Curry: When the clam curry we originally wanted sold out, Best proposed substituting it with beef. That pivot turned out to be one of the stars of the night. While also on the spicier side, the curry featured i

One of the first things I learned is that β€œSaam” means β€œthree” in Thai, and after dining here, it felt like the restaurant perfectly balances three essentials: flavor, presentation, and hospitality. The menu is a modern interpretation of Thai cuisine, staying true to traditional flavors while presenting each dish with creativity and elegance. The Som Tum Peach with Raw Prawns was a standout starter. The sweetness of the ripe peach paired beautifully with the fresh raw prawns, while the spicy dressing brought the bold, tangy kick you’d expect from a great som tum. It’s refreshing, unique, and surprisingly well-balanced. The Nua Dad Deaw (Sun-Dried Beef) was another favoriteβ€”crispy on the outside, tender inside, and packed with savory flavor. It paired perfectly with the accompanying dipping sauce and fresh herbs. One of my absolute favorites was the Khao Soi Haeng Seafood. Instead of the traditional curry broth, this dry-style version coats the noodles in an intensely flavorful sauce. Loaded with fresh seafood, every bite was rich, aromatic, and deeply satisfying. It’s a dish I’d happily come back for. The Tiger Prawns with Kapi were beautifully cooked. The prawns were sweet an

The dishes are very special! Beautiful setup. Just hoping to try cocktails next time when we return. (It’s their first day so not everything is on the menu is ready.) Dessert is a bit overpriced tbh, but mango & sticky rice is my all time favorite.

As a Thai, this is probably the closest thing to fine dining from home that I’ve had in SF. I’ve been following Chef Ton for years, so when I found out he was opening Saam in San Francisco, I literally counted down the days. I came on opening day and somehow ended up ordering… basically the whole menu. πŸ˜‚ Every single dish surprised me. Chef Ton, Chef Tee, and Chef Ty took Thai flavors I grew up with and turned them into something completely different while still feeling so Thai. There were so many combinations I would’ve never expected, but they just worked. The food was incredible, but honestly the whole experience was. The space is beautiful, service was super warm (not stuffy at all), and the drink pairings were on point. You can tell there’s so much thought behind every dish, from the ingredients to the presentation to the story it tells. If you’re looking for your typical pad thai or green curry… this isn’t that. This is Thai cuisine on another level, and I’m so happy SF finally has a restaurant like this. Already planning my next visit. ❀️
